Four Winds #4 July 2016

This was our first trip to the Outer Banks and we enjoyed it very much! We stayed in the Four Winds Cottage 4 and it was perfectly suited for us. A five-minute walk to a beautiful sandy beach (private access across the road) with lots of room on the beach and life guards close by. The cottages are centrally located on the Outer Banks with lots of other things to do near by, including the Wright Brothers National Memorial ($9 per vehicle ), Roanoke Island Museum ( free), Jockey's Ridge State Park (free), Cape Hatteras Lighthouse ($8 to climb the lighthouse, free to walk the grounds and see the museum), a large multi-screen movie theatre, an outlet mall, and grocery stores. The cottage was clean, had lots of room, 3 tvs, internet that worked well all the time, well-functioning  ac, and all the standard kitchen items we needed, The appliances all worked well and the outdoor shower was very handy after returning from the beach. For a small family, or a couple, I don't think you can get any closer to the beach as all the properties across the road that back onto the dunes are hotels or huge houses meant for large groups. We highly recommend the Four Winds Cottages for anyone, but especially for couples and small families. I give them a 5 star rating!
