Sand Fiddler and Sea Biscuit are still opened for the week. You can get these houses for the low price of $300 per night with a 3 night minimum and these pools with be opened as well.

Easter Weekend Events for the whole family

Easter weekend is quickly approaching and events are set in place for everyone ranging from families to adults seeking an exciting weekend getaway!

Let’s go fly a kite!! On Friday, April 19th, the annual kite festival will be held on Jockey’s Ridge sand dunes for not only the kids to see but all the Outer Banks onlookers! This festival is in honor of National Kite Month and will feature several vibrantly colorful and fun kites ranging from 30 feet to 100 feet in length!

Easter Bunny Time!! On Saturday, April 20th, there will be an Easter egg hunt held at Kitty Hawk Kites in Nags Head. Making a special appearance will be the Easter Bunny who will be posing for pictures throughout the event! Both events are open and free to the public. Adults only!! For adults that are not looking to hunt for Easter eggs, there will be the first Spring Scare Fair held at Secret Islands Restaurant on April 19th and April 20th 2019. The Scare Fair admission is free to the public. On Friday night, there will be a Halfway to Halloween Bash held featuring a costume contest with opportunities to win prizes for best dressed. 12th Annual “Taste of the Beach” -Starts March 28th

Have you every visited the Outer Banks and didn’t know where to eat with the family or just to have a drink with friends? This is your chance to sample almost every restaurant here on the Outer Banks. From March 28th through March 31st, 2019 you will be able to taste test a variety of different styles of food and drinks (including seafood). During these four days of food and fun there will be over 60 events, held over a span of 30 different venues ranging from taverns to family- friendly waterfront restaurants.

Service Animals and Assistance Animals

We at Rentals on the Ocean, are always willing waive our Pet fees for TRUE “Service Dogs” and Assistance Animals in accordance with the ADA regulations and Fair Housing Laws. 

Unfortunately, we get a LOT of guests who claim their pet is a “service animal” when it is not.

As you probably know, many people claim their pets are service animals because they provide emotional support, comfort and companionship. They can even go online and get documentation for an animal.

There are a lot of websites that will help people try to portray their pet as a “Service Animal”; although they really are not, nor do they meet the legal requirements

If you are one of these people, we caution you.  People that falsely claim a pet as a service animal can face extreme punishments, including fines and even imprisonment. Out of our love and respect for service animals, we have a zero-tolerance policy on misrepresentation and report all suspected offenders.   Service animals are not Pets.  They are trained to assist disabled individuals.

Your Pets are ALWAYS welcome in our cottages.  We only ask that you be honest and pay the pet fee required to help us recoup some of the expenses we incur by remaining pet friendly.

If you wish to have your fee waived for a service dog or assistance animal, the following procedures must be met:

  1. All service and assistance animals must be declared at the time of booking whenever possible and prior to the check-in date in all instances. Failure to declare the animal will result in maximum penalty allowed by law.
  2. Answer the Following Questions:
    • For Service Animals, you will need to answer the following questions:
      • Do you or a person in your party need this animal to accompany him/her due to a disability?
      • What work or tasks has the animal been trained to perform that relate to the disability?
    • For Assistance Animals, you need to answer these questions:
      • Does the person seeking to bring the animal have a disability, i.e., a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more major life activities?
      • Does the animal assist, perform tasks or services for the benefit of the person with the disability or provide emotional support that alleviates one or more of the identified symptoms or effects of the person’s disability?
    • Emotional Support or Comfort Animals do not qualify for free pet fees as they are not recognized by the ADA.

We support all the good that Service and Assistance Animals do.

Four Winds #3 is across the street from the beach. Perfect for a small family getaway for the holidays. It has 2 bedrooms and 1 bath.  This house is only $100 per night with a 2 night stay from now until January 3. If you book this house you will get a free amenities package. Sand Dollar has an ocean view and we have some upgrades added to the house. If you have stayed here in the past then you will notice what we did. We have taken the carpet off the stairs, replace the top deck with a new one, taken the washer and dryer from the ground level (carport) to upstairs and now instead of one fridge you have 2. Perfect for a holiday meal! This house will sleep 14 people. It has 4 bedrooms and 2.5 baths. You can get this house for the low price of $150 per night with a 2 night stay from now until January 3. If you book this house you will get a free amenities package. This price includes all taxes, rate, and housekeeping fee. This offer is only for these dates. 

Laughing Gull is on the ocean side with an ocean view from the crow’s nest. This house is under a major remodel and will be available for booking this Sunday 12/16/18.WE HAVE LISTENED TO OUR CUSTOMER’S. We have gutted the kitchen, ripped up the floor in the living room and kitchen, painted the dark brown door frames and window seals, upgraded the kitchen and actually flipped it to make more room, and we aren’t stopping there… more upgrades and remodels coming soon.  (Pictures coming soon). This house has 3 bedrooms and 2 baths. You can book this house for the low price of $100 per night with a 2 night stay from 12/16 thru 1/4. If you book this house you will get a free amenities package. This offer is only for these dates. 

Forbes Fever is ocean front with 6 bedrooms and 3.5 baths. This house is the style of the “Old Nags Head” look with a modern twist. The kitchen has been moved and upgraded. There is an actual dinning room with new floors, and other upgrades are coming soon. You can book this house for the low price of $175 per night with a 2 night stay from now until January 4. Peppers cottage is on the ocean side and is perfect for a couple’s getaway. This little cottage has one bed and one bath and a wide open floor plan. This house is our most popular house and has limited booking dates, so please hurry and book the dates that are available from now until January 4. Sea Gull is ocean front with an amazing view. This house has 6 rooms and 3 baths. Upgrades has also happened to this house and we haven’t finished this house. Come and check them out for the low price of $215 a night from now until January 4. (Dates are limited for availability).

Sea Biscuit and Sand Fiddler are both ocean view, have movie theater,an elevator, 2 sets of washers/dryers, 2 kitchens, and 2 living rooms. Sea Biscuit has 7 rooms and 6 baths and also has an air hockey table. Sand Fiddler has 7 rooms and 7 baths and has a pool table. Come and live on the beach for the winter. Available Nov 25-March 31.

The Four Winds Cottages are 2 bedrooms and 1 bath. They come fully furnished and you don’t have to pay utilities.  Everything is included in the monthly price of $1,150.00 a month and they are 100% pet friendly. We require a pet fee of $200.00 per pet and a refundable security deposit of $1,150.00 before you can move in.

There is a private fenced in yard for your animals to run around in, picnic table, and a charcoal grill that is even a smoker. All this can be yours for the winter.

These two cottages are in the perfect area if you love to fish or surf. We are just minutes away from Oregon Inlet, Pirate’s Cove, Wanchese, Hatteras Island, and many many more secret spots for fishing and surfing.
