Forbes Fever is a gem. She is an Old Girl, but well maintained, clean, and cozy. New updates to baths noted, and decking updates started as we left. It was fully stocked, even with spare heaters and blankets tucked away as it was 10 degrees one day. Elevator was great for grandparents and for our old dog whose back went out during the stay. The outdoor space was amazing. View from upstairs is beautiful and the direct walkway to beach was nice. Our dogs had the time of their lives! It was completely dog friendly but you would never know dogs had been there (no smells, hair, fur, stains, scratches, wear and tear). The layout is unique but cool. It allows for cozy nooks and separation of space, but with large common areas. There are 2 upstairs, not connected to each other on second floor. This allowed for the older kids to have their own "kid's floor" on 2nd floor. The property management company was very responsive, even on a holiday. They were very kind and easy to work with. Location is very convenient to shopping, outlets, entertainment, lighthouses, pier, restaurants, veterinarian and urgent care, groceries, pharmacy, etc. Best of all Ocean Front. We had family come in from all over NC for Christmas, we brought a full size, pre-lit tree, decorated it with shells and coastal ornaments, drank eggnog, baked cookies, exchanged gifts, and played games. When I have read books set in beach cottages, this is what I imagine. It is very cozy but surprisingly spacious and can accommodate large families. The mid century coastal decor and original door latches are perfect! We did not get to use the pool or utilize the decks and gazebo this time, but we hope to visit again in warmer weather! -5 Stars
