UPDATE TO CANCELLATION POLICY- 4/2/20

With the uncertainty of the pandemic, we have found it necessary to alter our policies almost daily.

Right now, we are relaxing our Cancellation and Refund Policy for reservations booked
Before March 13 with stays that fall between March 13 and April 30.

Option 1: Receive a credit for full value to be used within the next year to travelers who can’t take trips now due to COVID-19.

Option 2: Receive a refund.

Dare county is currently closed to visitors.  If this is still the situation when you plan to come, we will offer you one of these options.

A decision has not been made about refunds in cases where the county is open and the traveler chooses not to come.

You can keep up to date at https://www.darenc.com/departments/emergency-management/

We are trying to keep a positive attitude & have faith that the government everything under control soon so that you can come enjoy your vacation as planned!

We are Taking Proactive Steps to Protect and Reassure our Guests During the Coronavirus Health Scare

With coronavirus (COVID-19) in the news, many travelers are concerned about protecting their health.

It is our job as professionals to have standards for cleanliness in place for every stay.
That said, we are taking extra precautions to protect our guests during this health scare of COVID-19.

We have added steps to our cleaning process to make sure you are protected from the spread of infection.

  •  Wiping down light switches, lamps, cupboard handles, doorknobs, banisters, and any other item that our guests may touch.  They are using only an approved disinfecting cleanser.
  • Running all our dishes and flatware through the dishwasher – even the clean ones.
  • Sanitizing high-contamination sites and using a disinfectant spray or bleach on bathroom toilets, sinks, and trash cans.
  • Wiping down all appliances, electronics, and provided amenities.  Irons and boards, vacuum cleaners, brooms, dust pans.
  • Running all available linens through the laundry – even the clean ones.
  • Just before our Housekeepers leave the property, they sterilize your entry method. This might be the keypad or a set of keys in a lockbox, but either way, we make sure the entry method has been thoroughly cleaned.

We are asking our housekeepers to take extra time to attend to more minute details.  We are counting on them to prevent infection.

As a result, your house may take a little longer to get ready for Check in.  Our priority is safety, not speed.

We want you to feel confident that you wonʼt catch any kind of bug – severe or otherwise – in our houses.

The aftermath of Hurricane Dorian

Hurricane Dorian as it pulverizes the Outer Banks

We have survived the deadly Hurricane Dorian. We were lucky in NOT receiving any damages done by Hurricane Dorian. The only thing that happened was a few shingles flew away but that is getting fixed. Unfortunately some of us here on the Outer Banks have lost everything. People here on the Outer Banks, Hatteras Island, Ocracoke Island, and the Bahamas lost everything from this storm. Please keep these people in your thoughts and in your hearts. There is a bunch of places to where you can donate money or your time to help these people out. Every little bit helps.

Re-entry for all visitors will be allowed today Sunday, September 8 at 4 pm. Please note that some streets and neighborhoods are marked for no entry. There are still places that have no power. Power poles and trees are still down in some areas. So please drive with caution if you are a visitor of the Outer Banks. Please be respectfully to the locals, we have been threw a lot and some of us have been without power since Thursday. We do welcome all visitors with open arms. The red flags are still flying due to high Rip currents. These red flags mean NO SWIMMING. The town will let us know when it is safe to enter the water.

We want to thank all the workers that have worked hard to get us back up and running again. Thank you to Dominion Power, Spectrum, FEMA, Dare County Emergency Team, all volunteer’s that came from all over, and to the first responders team, and the many other’s we have helped us threw this devastating event.

For more information please visit the outer banks emergency management website.
